Cool Socks to Knit for Warm Weather
Sock knitting isn’t just for wooly winter. These short tennis shoe or sandal socks are worked in a soft cotton blend to get your warm-weather toes tapping in no time! Four designs are included in the pattern.
Models are shown in Wildflower D.K., by Plymouth Yarn (51% cotton / 49% acrylic); 50g, 137 yds; 2 balls/pair.
Sock Basics
If you can knit and purl, you can make socks. Clear instructions will help you create a wardrobe of basic adult socks to wear with Birkenstocks, clogs, or boots. Six variations, all knitted top-down with traditional heel and gusset shaping.
Uses soft DK or light worsted weight yarn, 300 to 500 yds. Exact amount will vary with your foot length and the length of cuff desired. For average size feet with a sport cuff (6”-8” tall), the lesser amount will suffice. For larger feet or a boot cuff (10”-12” tall), purchase a greater amount of yarn.
